The Brief

Plastic Planet is a participatory installation & exhibit that was built cohesively with visitors at Figment Boston 2018. Together we made sculpture tributes to a lifestyle no longer appropriate for modern life on this planet, and pledged to build a better one through less plastic use. Trying to see beauty in the things causing havoc helped me faciliate a crafting table where people from age 3 to 55+ could learn more about the issues surrounding plastic on our planet while being creative. Knowing that happy or shocking memories makes people more likely to remember and take action, this was my answer to the plastic crisis we are currently seeing.

About The Client

FIGMENT Boston is an explosion of creative energy. It's a free, annual celebration of participatory art and culture where everything is possible. For one weekend each summer, we transform The Rose Kennedy Greenway into a large-scale collaborative artwork - and then it's gone.
